Local Faith Leaders Convene to Address Opioid Misuse in Their Congregations

For families dealing with substance use disorders, or just looking for guidance on how to prevent drug misuse in the home, their church, mosque or synagogue should be a safe place to turn for help.

Faith leaders from across Central Ohio attended the Faith Leaders Luncheon on February 20, 2020, to discuss ways to address drug use and addiction within their communities. Radio personalities Sean Anthony, Nia Noelle and Yaves Ellis of URBAN One emceed the event, which featured a panel of five faith leaders who are proactively breaking the stigma of addiction by openly preaching on opioid misuse prevention and treatment options.

The event was sponsored by URBAN One, Ohio Opioid Education Alliance, ADAMH Board of Franklin County, Columbus Public Health and Columbus & Franklin County Addiction Plan.
